With the maturation of the PET container market and subsequent end of the seller's market, have come reduced production volumes, tighter contract times and an increased emphasis on eco-friendly, so machine users are facing a greatly changed business environment. At the same time, production costs are increasing because of increased transport and raw material prices due to steep rises in the price of crude oil, and because of increased labor costs and other factors. As a result, machine users are looking for even greater cost performance and production efficiencies in their machines and molds as they struggle to survive in the current fierce price competition. Fispal Tecnologia is the largest integrated food packaging, filling, storage and transport exhibition in Latin America, with about 540 exhibitors participating this year from a wide range of industries including machinery, food, containers, closures and materials. We welcomed about 300 visitors to the Aoki stand this year, representing about 150 different companies with which we were able to have concrete discussions. Aoki customers from Brazil and other countries in Latin America - manufacturers of food, beverages and other products, as well as container manufacturers - also visited us at our stand.

We had a huge display of sample bottles this year, so many of our visitors were buyers, or potential buyers, of containers who we were able to discuss the possibility of in-plant production with, or introduce them to our other customers, depending on the quantities involved. The exhibition this year enabled us to collect a lot of information from many different container end users. Representatives from large food companies also visited the Aoki stand to discuss new projects for the future, and to ask us about the possibility of partnering with them in product development.

Market-specific exhibitions like this are an extremely useful tool for expanding and cultivating our customer base, so we hope to continue exhibiting in the future as well.

Thank you to everyone who helped Aoki Mexico celebrate the opening of its new office.

Aoki Mexico was reopened as our Sales Support Center for Latin America. Around 3,000 of the latest Aoki sample bottles from over 80 countries around the world are available at the new office for customers to touch and inspect, and a new seminar room is also permanently available for Customer Sales Support Seminars. In addition to offering an even greater range of technical support services, Aoki Mexico will now also be able to assist its customers with their own sales activities.

Several customers from Mexico and other countries attended a presentation on "One hour performance & Long-term performance" given on the opening day. During their inspection on the same day, those customers enjoyed a treasure hunt for sample containers to take home and use in their businesses. Overflowing with excitement, the visit also offered an important opportunity for information exchange between our customers.

Aoki Mexico is planning regular CS Seminars and collection of new sample containers, so please drop by for a visit sometime.

Aoki Technical Laboratory, Inc. will exhibit at the upcoming 6th International Plastic Fair 2008, to be held in Japan from November 7-11, 2008.
Aoki's message at this global technology showcase is Molding containers just for the cost of a cold preform. Our exhibition will identify and explain the numerous wasted energies that the use of cold preforms generates. Aoki will also conduct a number of injection stretch-blow molding machine demonstrations, addressing various needs and situations, at its head office and factory. (Demonstrations always available on request.)
Also at IPF 2008, we will display a number of containers from the 80-plus countries currently using Aoki molding machines around the world, and we will prepare special locations within the Aoki stand to present technologies related to several special container molding types, including Ugly Duckling pouch containers, thick-walled glasslike containers, recycled PET containers (Recycled PET Eco-System), and containers molded on optimum machines from optimum materials.
The Aoki approach to research and development is to remove the complex processes associated with molding plastic containers, and with continuing simplification to create a technology that stably molds high precision products. At IPF 2008, Aoki will show the Direct Heatcon Molding System, developed from those many years of research, to prove this fully established, globally unique molding technology and its advantages.

On September 18, 2008, Aoki Laboratory America, Inc. celebrated its 10th anniversary. Aoki America's main role as an Aoki subsidiary has been to provide technical support, and in addition to boosting the level of technical support provided, this 10-year anniversary has provided the opportunity for Aoki America to also become a Sales Support Center for the provision of Sales Support Seminars and other support to both existing and new Aoki customers.
Around 3,000 of the latest Aoki sample bottles from over 80 countries around the world are available at the Aoki America office for customers to touch and inspect, and a new seminar room is also permanently available for customer sales support seminars. During the anniversary celebration, many Aoki customers attended these seminars, inspected the displayed samples and took home any sample bottles that they were interested in, and that might be helpful for their businesses, for later closer investigation. They also helped Aoki celebrate the occasion at a lively party in the evening. We would like to thank those many customers for helping Aoki America celebrate its 10th anniversary.
